“Dynamic Duos”

Violinist Timothy Chooi is the acclaimed winner of the Queen Elisabeth competition and is known for his passionate performances. His concerts have been described as “An Interlude of Bliss,” by the Toronto Star. Timothy performs on a 1709 Stradivarious violin, on loan from the Nippon Music Foundation. Pianist Victor Asuncion, renowned musical artist and friend to El Paso is the Director of the FilAM Music Foundation, dedicated to promoting Filipino Classical Musicians.

Cellist John-Henry Crawford has been lauded for his polished charisma," and was named the Young Artist of the Year by the Classical Recording Foundation. Pianist Victor Asuncion, recognized for his "poised and imaginative playing," has performed around the world with musical luminaries and performed in El Paso alongside the late Lynn Harrell, in his final performance. El Paso Pro-Musica presents "Summerfest '23, and "Sibling Rivalry," an unforgettable Concert featuring the Brother and Sister Duos of Helen Kim, violin and Michael Kim, piano, alongside Allison Bailey, violin and Her Brother Zuill Bailey! Get Ready for an Unforgettable Evening of Music! Game On! 

 

The Kim family grew up in Canada, where Helen made her Orchestral debut with the Calgary Philharmonic at the age of 6. Michael, who was discouraged by his Father ( a professional Orchestra musician) from entering the world of performance at too early an age, made his professional debut with the Calgary Philharmonic at the age of 11. Along with performing as a Concert pianist throughout the world, Michael is also the Dean of the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University, London, Ontario. Helen, with a stellar performance background, most recently performed alongside Zuill Bailey and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra and El Paso Pro-Musica. Helen Kim is a member of the Music Faculty at Kennesaw University. 

 

The Bailey family grew up in Virginia surrounded by music. Their Mom, Lana, was a renowned pianist and an instructor, and their Father,Zuill Sr., a popular Band Director and Clarinetist  who encouraged their children's musical growth and development at an early age. Allison is the Orchestra Director for the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax, Virginia along with serving as the Assistant Concertmaster for the Orchestras in Fairfax and Alexandria, Virginia. Zuill, a Grammy Award winning Cellist has served as the EPPM Artistic Director for 21 years and performs throughout the world in Concert, along with heading Festivals in Sitka and Juneau Alaska, Spokane, Washington, plus Mesa, Arizona.
